Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour - Detailed Itinerary                                    

Day 1    Depart LAX (Los Angeles) to Beijing/China
              Depart LAX at 1:40AM by Air China flight

 Day 2    Beijing
Arrive in Beijing at 5:20AM. Meet / transfer to your 4-star hotel in  Beijing for 2 nights.  Afternoon tour of Tian'anmen Square & Forbidden City.  Evening is free.

 Day 3    Beijing (Breakfast, Lunch)
 Full-day tour to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Evening is free.

 Day 4   Beijing  - Lhasa (B/L/D)
 Depart Beijing for Lhasa by air. Upon arrival, transfer to Yarlung valley, check in Tsedang hotel, afternoon is free for adjustment to the local altitude.
 
 Day 5   Tibet  (B/L/D)
 Take a local boat and cross the Yarlung River to visit Samye monastery. 

Day 6   Tibet  (B/L/D)
 Visit to Yumbulhakang, then drive to Lhasa: On the way visit a Tibetan village/family and Mindroling Monastery. Check into Yak Hotel (Tibetan owned & operated, and beautifully remodeled in April 2006).

 Day 7   Tibet (B/L/D)
 Sight-seeing tour of Norbulingka (morning), Sera monastery (afternoon).

 Day 8   Tibet (B/L/D)
 Drive to Yamdrok-Tso Holy Lake.  Enjoy the view and ride the yaks!
 
 Day 9   Lhasa (B/L/D)
Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market for shopping and strolling among the locals.

 Day 10  Lhasa (B/L/D)
Potala Palace and Traditional Medicine Hospital (private consultations with traditional medicine doctor available).

Day 11  Lhasa - Beijing (B)
 Depart Lhasa for Chengdu by air and then connect same day flight to Beijing. Upon arrival, meet / transfer to your hotel for overnight. Evening at leisure.

Day 12  Return to USA  (if everyone is traveling as a group on same flight, hotel-airport transfer will be provided.  For individual flight arrangements, your own transportation must be arranged and paid for).  No meals are covered on this day.
