Klaus is a professional massage therapist and body worker with travel and living experiences in South America, Europe and the USA.

Dulce has recently retired from a successful corporate career to bring to others what she loves the most:  Travel and exploring unique cultures as a vehicle for getting in touch with the mystical forces of your inner life.  Dulce's interests include meditation, riding and healing horses, and the practice of Tibetan Buddhism.  She has lived and traveled extensively in South America, Eastern Europe and China.

Day 1: Lima – Arrival in Lima and transfer to your hotel to relax from your long journey.

In the evening, join us for a night of Pena:  Listen and dance to the rhythms of folkloric music from different regions of Peru.

 

Day 2: Lima (B) – Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and embark on your A.M. City tour

Day 3: Lima/ Cusco (B) - Breakfast at the hotel.

A.M. Transportation to the airport. Departure to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Morning is free for acclimation to altitude.

In the afternoon, you will have your first ritual encounter in the place of worship of one of the elements of nature, when you visit the Water Temple at Tambomachay, to be purified and thus made ready to visit the other places on the itinerary.  From here you are taken to visit the Temple of the Moon, where you will enter into direct relationship with the symbols of the elements depicted there in natural formations (Puma, Snake and Condor).  You will then go down to the lower Temple (cave), where a meditation will be held to bring you into contact with the spirits of the ancient inhabitants of this place.

Day 4:   Cusco (B)     After breakfast, we take you to Qorikancha, the Great Sun Temple of the Incas, and to the different places of Inca deity worship.  Here you make contact with the energy of the sun, the moon, the stars, lightning-and-thunder, and rainbow.The tour continues to Qenqo (site of worship of Mother Earth and place of Male/Female Equilibrium), and then on to Saqsaywaman (the Royal House of the Sun or second Temple of the Sun) for a general sightseeing visit to this archaeological complex.

Day 5:   Cusco / Sacred Valley (B,L)    Excursion to the Pisac Ruins and the famous “Intiwatana” or Astronomic Observatory, where you will take part in a ceremony invoking the spirit of the Condor.  The tour continues to Tapu Kiru (in the town of Ollantaytambo) and the Archaeological Complex of Ollantaytambo, where you will make contact with Katachillay and meditate before the image of Tunupe (Supreme God of the ancient inhabitants of the area).

Day 6:   Sacred Valley (B)    Morning excursion to Kachiqnata Mountain, for an outside observation of the Pyramid of Paqaroqtampu.  In the afternoon, we make ritual offerings to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth).

Day 7:   Sacred Valley / Machu-Picchu  (B,L)    Take morning train to Machu Picchu (approx 1 1/2 hrs).  Enjoy a full-day excursion to Machu Picchu, the most important religious center in the Cusco region, dedicated to the worship of all the elements of nature, especially Mother Earth.  Lunch is included.

Overnight at hotel in Aguas Calientes (closest town to Machu Picchu).

Day 8:  Machu Picchu/Cusco (B)  Early in the morning, excursion to Machu Picchu ruins to watch the sunrise and participate in a spiritual ceremony.  Afterwards, enjoy the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes.  In the afternoon, take the train to return to Cusco (approx 4 hrs).  Arrive and transfer to hotel.

Day 9:   Cusco / Juliaca / Puno (B,L) Transfer to the station to take the train for an 8 hr journey to the town of Juliaca.  Lunch will be served on the train. Arrival in Juliaca, and transfer to your hotel in Puno.

Day 10:   Puno  (B,L)      Full-day excursion to Amaru-Muru, 73 km south of Puno, to see what appears to be a petrified forest, with rock formations in the shape of people, animals, and mystical objects, which are said to contain magnetic energies. Box lunch included.

 Day 11:   Uros / Puno / Juliaca / Lima           Half-day tour to the floating island of the Uros, “Guardians of the Lake” (Titicaca), 7 km from the city of Puno.  Its inhabitants live on totora reeds and are skilled fishermen and craftsmen.

Transfer to Juliaca airport, visiting the Sillustani burial towers en route.  Departure to Lima.

Arrival in Lima. Assistance at the airport to take the respective international flight connection.

 

LIMA TOUR OPTIONS FOR DAY  2

LIMA EXPLORER -The best excursion to get to know Lima.  Tour duration:  3.5 hrs.

This excursion provides a perfect combination (pre-Hispanic era, colonial period and Modern Lima), that enables the visitor to get acquainted with Lima’s history and culture.

We visit the Huaca Pucllana (1), a magnificent ceremonial and administrative center of Lima Culture, built in the 4th century AD, and considered by the Incas as a ñaupallaqta, or "sacred village".

Next, revisit the splendour of Old Spain at the Historical Center: Paseo de la República, San Martín Square, Main Square, Government Palace, Basilica Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, City Hall Palace, the old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish-style balconies.

We also visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental assembly of colonial art in America. The monks’ Choir and Library; the Vestry, with paintings by Zurbaran and Rivera; Main Cloister decorated with Sevillian tiles from the 16th century; Moorish arches, and The Catacombs, underground crypts from the colonial times.

The tour continues through the more traditional Residential Areas of Lima: El Olivar in San Isidro, with olive trees brought from Spain in the 17th century; Miraflores’ Central Park, and Larco Mar, a spot of international thematic attractions which offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean – Larco Mar has become a distinctive symbol of modern Lima.

MUSEUM TOUR: Archaeological Museum and Larco Museum.

In just one tour, you can visit the magnificent mansions from the viceroyalty period containing the most important gold, ceramics, textiles and art collections of South America. The world’s great museums are located in capital cities, and Lima is no exception with two of Peru’s most important museums located here. They exhibit the finest works of pre-Colombian art from the ancient Peru.

National Museum of Peruvian History, Anthropology and Archaeology: (2) The museum is located in a colonial house, where "viceroys" and "libertadores" once lived. It is considered to be the most significant and complete museum in Peru. Here you will find famous stone monuments such as the "Estela Raimondi" and the "Obelisco Tello" from the formative period (1000 BC). Also housed in this museum is the most significant collection of ancient textiles, ranging from the pre-ceramic period to the Inca era. The museum also exhibits an important assortment of metal artifacts from Ancient Peru.

The "Larco" Museum is an antique mansion (17th century) from the viceroyalty period, built on a pre-Colombian pyramid that dates from the 8th century. This impressive museum contains the famous Erotic Art Chamber and holds the exquisite collection "Gold and Silver from Ancient Peru". These pieces are known worldwide, and have been displayed in the best museums around the world. The Larco Museum is the largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Colombian art in the world.

SACRED CITADEL OF PACHACAMAC      Tour duration:  3.5 hrs

An unforgettable and mystical experience: Oracle, Temples, Myths and Legends! 

Sacred and ceremonial center of the beginning of the Christian era, where thousands of pilgrims came to present offerings and consult the oracle of Pachacamac, enabling them to see into the past and into the future to predict their destiny.

Our guided tour to Pachacamac includes a visit to the pyramidal temples and to precincts built by pre-Columbian cultures including the Incas. The Temples of the Sun and of the Virgins of the Sun (Acllahuasi) are part of the archaeological complex, which also includes a museum on site where the idol of the god Pachacamac is kept. The whole area is considered to be sacred, and part of the world’s mystical axis.

This excursion also takes you through the streets of Barranco, a traditional neighborhood in Lima, and to its romantic "Puente de los Suspiros" (The Bridge of Sighs). You will also see the beaches of the Costa Verde, the Ecological Reserve at Villa Marshes, and later, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean as you travel along the South Route of the Panamerican Highway.

PERUVIAN GOLD MUSEUM        Tour duration:  2.5 hrs

The Mujica Gallo collection, will known as the Peruvian Gold Museum, is located in Lima and we offer a guided tour during which you will be able to appreciate the magnificent collection of gold artifacts from the pre-Colombian cultures. The museum also exhibits a significant display of antique and modern arms considered one of the best in its genre. The lure of Peruvian gold drew many European adventurers to this land 500 years ago, eventually causing the Inca Empire to end and heralding the beginning of Spanish rule in Peru.

The Museum is located in the district of Santiago de Surco, and our excursion allows time for you to have a look around this modern residential area in Lima.
